A System for Buffer Management in Voice Communication
نویسندگان
چکیده
The transmission of voice and video packets through Internet suffers from delay which is needed to be minimized at the time of PlayOut. The packets are received from the network with a varying delay. This delay is called jitter. To surmount the mentioned problems, a system is designed in this work. This technique handles packets in the buffer at the receiver end. The receiver receives packets from the network with a varying delay. To manage delay at the receiver side, the packets are divided into chunks by the system. Size of the chunk is 50 packets. All chunks are of the same size. In case the last chunk is not filled due to less number of packets, then dummy bits are added to the chunk so that the chunk reaches to the maximum negotiated value. This method is called bit padding. The proposed system is simulated in OPNET Modeler 14.0 and compared with the normal flow of voice traffic.

This comment argues that instead of worrying about the pros and cons of whistleblowing one should focus on the more general problem of the failure of upward communication around safety and quality problems and consider what leaders and managers must do to stimulate subordinates to communicate and reward such communication. The article analyzes why safety failures occur and introduces the concep...
متن کاملRelevance of a Toll-Free Call Service Using an Interactive Voice Server to Strengthen Health System Governance and Responsiveness in Burkina Faso
Background In Africa, health systems are poorly accessible, inequitable, and unresponsive. People rarely have either the confidence or the opportunity to express their opinions. In Burkina Faso, there is a political will to improve governance and responsiveness to create a more relevant and equitable health system. Given their development in Africa, information and communication technolog...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of an Integrated Voice/Data Wireless Network with Voice Buffer∗
This paper investigates the performance of an integrated voice/data wireless mobile network where a finite buffer is provided for voice calls since they can endure a tolerable time, or the reneging time, for service. Based on a given humanistic reneging time, we analyze the voice traffic blocking probability. The probability distribution of receiving service within the reneging time is obtained...
متن کاملImproving for Drum_Buffer_Rope material flow management with attention to second bottlenecks and free goods in a job shop environment
Drum–Buffer–Rope is a theory of constraints production planning methodology that operates by developing a schedule for the system’s first bottleneck. The first bottleneck is the bottleneck with the highest utilization. In the theory of constraints, any job that is not processed at the first bottleneck is referred to as a free good. Free goods do not use capacity at the first bottleneck, so very...
متن کاملPerformance analysis for voice/data integration on a finite-buffer mobile system
Personal communication service (PCS) networks offer mobile users diverse telecommunication applications, such as voice, data, and image, with different bandwidth and quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. This paper proposes an analytical model to investigate the performance of an integrated voice/data mobile network with finite data buffer in terms of voice-call blocking probability, data loss...
